Managing Flies in Commercial and Residential Facilities

Jamal Sandidge, BCE, PhD, MA, Nisus Corp

Once you become well-versed in effective control strategies and products and develop a solid program for fly control, companies will seek you out and pay for established success. This seminar will discuss sanitation and bio-sanitation, implementing integrated pest management (IPM), insecticide applications, pesticide safety in commercial facilities, and customer communication.

9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. CDT

We Got a Big Problem: German Cockroach Management Best Practices

Tim Husen, BCE, PhD, PHE, PCQI, Syngenta

German cockroaches are a key revenue producing pest, while simultaneously being the cause of many service callbacks due to lack of control.  What makes the German cockroach different from other pest cockroach species?  Who is your main German cockroach management target and where can it be found?  What is your management plan?  This session will answer these questions and more about this important pest.

10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. CDT

Stinging Insects (What’s the Buzz?)

Heather Patterson

Stinging insects can be alarming to the unprepared. The first step to being prepared is to learn about the public health impact of stinging insects, the associated PPE, and first aid. The other part of preparation is knowing who you are up against. This session will go through social and solitary bees and wasps and what causes them to sting. Round out your preparation package by learning about control options and managing nests.
