Speaker Bios

Michelle WiesbrookExtension Specialist, Pesticide Safety Education Program

Michelle Wiesbrook has been an Extension Specialist with the University of Illinois Pesticide Safety Education Program for nearly 20 years.  Her area of expertise is Weed Science.  In addition to providing safety information to all users of pesticides in the state, she provides expertise and outreach in weed identification and control as well as herbicide drift injury.

Maria Restrepo-Turner – Extension Specialist, Pesticide Safety Education Program

Maria Restrepo-Turner is an Extension Specialist with the University of Illinois Pesticide Safety Education Program.   She provides subject matter training in pesticide safety and integrated pest management.  She also has expertise in organic pest control.

Travis Cleveland – Extension Specialist, Pesticide Safety Education Program

Travis Cleveland is an Extension Specialist with University of Illinois Pesticide Safety Education Program. He has been in his current position since 2011.  Travis provides educational information on plant pathology, as well as the effective, economical, and environmentally sound use of pesticides.

Sarah Hughson  – Extension Specialist, Pesticide Safety Education Program

Sarah Hughson is an Extension Specialist at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  She teaches in the Pesticide Safety Education Program, specializing in entomology.  With previous expertise in field crops pests, Sarah is now working toward developing expertise in ornamental, turfgrass and structural pests.  She looks forward to working with pesticide applicators and operators to promote safe handling of pesticides and good Integrated Pest Management practices.
